I haven’t used Windows Media Player in ages, since there are a few alternatives out there that IMHO are much better.
My favorite so far is the open source VLC . I’ve used GOM before but since it’s unable to play files with .bin extension, so I’ve been using VLC ever since.
The main problem with WMP is the codecs. Want to play avi files, download codecs. Want to play div files, download codecs. ;-(
