  16. When you try to open Task Manager, and the following error meesage occurs:
    Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator

    and this restriction was enabled without you doing anything or without your knowledge, then it’s highly likely

    that a Virus has blocked the usage of Task Manager in your system by enabling the DisableTaskMgr policy via the

    registry. I strongly suggest that you perform a thorough checkup of your system immediately.fixing the problem

    will not work untill the virus has been remove
    The following code will unblock the Task Manager, ( Windows XP Sys) but it will not remove the Virus (if any) from

    your system.
    Go to Start:
    Click on RUN;
    Run window will appear.
    type in the following code to enable the task manager. ( or copy from here)
    REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD

    /d 0 /f
    The task manager should now show when you right click on the menu bar

  17. okay this is strange

    my problem was that when i started task manager, it would say;
    ”task manager was disabled by the administrator”

    okay….so i fixed this by running ‘regedit’ (which also would present the same problem when ran ”registry was disabled by administrator” )
    i have to run;

    REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

    before i can even get INTO the registry.

    so…i finaly get into the registry and delete the ”DisableTaskMgr” & ”DisableRegistryTools”

    THIS WORKS and i can run regedit.exe and task manager fine

    BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    the INSTANT i click on IEXPLORER, the
    ”DisableTaskMgr” & ”DisableRegistryTools”

    are both BACK!! and neither work

    what the hell!?!?

  19. dear sir,
    i have faced lot of problem

    Error: disabled by your administrator
    solved my problem ASAP and reply me below email id
    (singh_ccna@hotmail.com)

    @naveen: Please download RunMinic and you should be able to run all the apps you have mentioned.

  20. you have a trojan in your system if it keeps coming back to disabled.

    if scanning won’t work…then that means the trojan already dropped a payload of viruses in your system,

    your system can be cleaned of the viruses but most applications will be inaccessible because the viruses have already infected most exe files.

    the trojan will stay in your system though…

    your system is too damaged to be recovered. when you access the internet, the trojan will download a payload of viruses again and you’re back to square one.

    if that is the case…grab your win CD, and format your computer.

  21. Iv got the same problem with them.iv tried many solutions but tune-up utilities regedet enables my taskmanager and regedt .but another problem came in the right click of my taskbar was disabled ..they say its a new folder virus but i can find any newfolder.exe in the process.

  22. i had suffering from this problem.Give solution to me.

  23. Hey,
    I had the same problem, plus i the run command on the start menu went away. i did some research and found out that it was caused by virus (hijacker) so i when on a whole day search for an antivirus i tried about 5 without success until i found pc tools internet secuity. As soon as i did the scan the task manager was enable and i was able to customize the start menu and have the run command once more. I highly recommend that you use pc tools or spyware doctor and believe they are similar.

  24. Hello..Friends..

    Sometimes its not a easy thing to bring back disabled TaskManager..i recently encounter a new virus that disabled TaskManage,REGEDIT and hides all files (folder option is available but if u set it to SHOW HIDDEN FILES it automatically reverts to DO NOT SHOW HIDDEN FILES mode)..Then i tried
    TASKLIST command to view the processes..there i couldn’t find any suspicious processes.!! BUT i saw 3 instances of NOTEPAD.EXE is running..(no NOTEPAD is opened)..I instantly tried TASKKILL /IM NOTEPAD.EXE comand to terminate it..it succeeds..But then IEXPLORE.EXE process is generated..i killed it too..then i couldn’t see any other process generating (I suspect that this virus infects EXE files in our system and make that EXE hidden from users. In any ways that infected program terminated..before closing..the infected program search for another EXE files in our system to infect and execute again from that EXE)..When i press CTRL+ALT+DEL..i got error message that Task Manager is Disabled and that ERROR MESSAGE CLOSE ITSELF AUTOMATICALLY…I tried PROCESS_EXPLORER software to watch the handles and processes..(no use..there it showing nothing suspicious)..but that nasty virus infects PROCESS-EXPLORER too..even after closing PROCESS-EXPLORER,i find 2 instances of it are running in tasklist..
    if we use the GPEDIT.MSC trick to bring back the TASKMANGER..it eanabled for a while after that the virus disbaled it again…The most funniest(even the dangerous) thing about this virus is that we cant trace its ProcessName..it can be anything (including ANTI-VIRUS processes)..in fact no programs in the infected system can be trusted..(i suspect even CMD.exe..that i used to kill the processes)..The Nastiest thing that it disables the system’s ability to boot in to the SAFE-MODE too..only START WINDOWS NORMALLY works..(otherwise the system restarts and come back to boot options)..If u tried to install any Anti-Virus Software..it closes the Installation Wizard Automatically..(i tried to install Kaspersky 7.0..but i couldn’t complete the installation itself)..Ultimately the only option is to ReFormat the system(including all drives otherwise the system will infect again from previously infected EXEs) resulting a large data loss..(Successful Virus Author!!!)..If anyone knows how to defend this VIRUS manually or any other means (WITHOUT RE-FORMATTING)..please share your knowledge here..I will be thankful to your response….

    next I try reinstall the window
    Window Xp Home Edition 2005 sp2

    After that the problems just appeared the same thing …
    i do some research and they all said it had to be with some trojan and viruses …
    so i tried all the antivirus AGV and stuffs
    after put the antivirus on the system it blocked everything and i just reinstall the system again and again …
    omg i just really wanna burn down this stupid pc …
    please any professional out there help me …
    give me some solution to do with this -/\- Thank you …

    • @ Jay : The malware on you machines seems to be very stubborn!
      Since you’ve tried a few steps to rectify the problem but it still doesn’t go away, the only solution that comes to my mind if for you to backup your FILES and reinstall the Windows NOT just reinstalling but if possible during installing Windows, delete the partition ( both if possibe ) or at least format it. Good luck
